Synopsis

In a Russian working camp, two broken souls on different sides of the system together write a fairy tale with an open ending.

Rasps and Bars is a film about two individuals, Juri and Peter, who are both victims of circumstances of a bigger scale. It shows how ordinary people can change to the worse under extreme conditions without judging them, since their fate is simply not comprehensible.

The concept for this animated short film was developed in co-production with B-Film Bulgaria, Dobromir Dimitrov (Sofia) and Mirela Barna (Bucharest) as part of the Exchange Forum "Perspectives for Animated Film" of the Filmfest Dresden.
